Migdale Water Mill is approximately 70 km (45 miles) from Inverness. It takes approximately 45-60 minutes to get to the mill from Inverness.
By road – There are several ways to get to the mill.
Route 1
Via the A9 which takes you along the northern side of the Cromarty Firth, bypassing Invergordon and Tain. Staying on the A9 cross the bridge over the Dornoch Firth and then after about 3km (1.5 miles) take the left turning following the signs to Clashmore and Bonar Bridge (A949). At Spinningdale turn right onto a single track road to Migdale. This takes you up through ‘fairy glen’. Near the top of the hill there is a road to the left Migdale Loch. Follow this down the hill and over the bridge of Migdale Burn. We are the first building on the left.
Route 2 ( shown to the left)

The other options are both from the A9, either along the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth from the roundabout south of the Dornoch Firth bridge (A836) or northern shore of the Firth from the turn off to Clashmore (A949). Both these roads get you to Bonar Bridge. The directions from there are in the paragraph above.
